Congratulations, 2024 Volunteer of the Year!

Thank you, Addie Blum

Since 1989, SAHC has awarded the Stan Murray Award for Volunteer Service to honor persons who have made outstanding volunteer contributions to the work of SAHC emulating the lifelong dedication of our founder, Stanley A. Murray.

Our 2024 Stan Murray Volunteer of the Year is Addie Blum. Addie, a neighbor of the SAHC Community Farm since 2020, has volunteered regularly for a myriad of our efforts there.  Addie led the chicken (egg layers) care at our farm where she collected thousands of eggs, washed, loaded cartons and cleaned the chicken tractor.  She also helped teach others who volunteered with the chickens at the farm and was a great leader.  With Addie’s watchful eye on the farm she has helped us with hikes, watching for broken gates, downed trees or the rare, loose cow.  Addie has been on various hikes on and off the farm while helping out some of our farmers with neighborly things where location close to the farm is helpful.
