“Our wedding supported the protection of the rolling pastures, tall oak trees, and beautiful mountains that made our day so memorable”
Why did you choose the SAHC Community Farm as your wedding venue?
Imagine the quiet and peace during the ceremony and the laughter and music at night among the fireflies. The views of the Newfound Mountains and Mount Pisgah off in the distance, backdrops to the yellowing straw, and purple topped grasses in the surrounding pastures. The simple joy of being on a working farm and seeing grazing cattle, knowing that your wedding experience is contributing to land conservation. We knew it was the perfect place!
We loved the fact that our event helped support the conservation of this special place and the mission of the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy. As long-time residents of Western North Carolina, we have so much value for the conservation work they do in the region and we’re proud that we could share that mission with our friends and family. We’re pleased to say that conserved farmland makes for some incredible wedding photos too!
We wanted to bring our friends and family to a place that captured the magic of Western North Carolina and had the flexibility to accommodate our logistical needs. The farm could not have been more perfect. It’s amazing that such a beautiful, rural setting is so close to town. The little details that make the farm so special are now wrapped up in all of the memories of our wedding. The late summer wildflowers, the mountains in the background, and the fireflies are part of the same fabric of our wedding vows and everyone’s dance moves during our reception.
