SUMMARY:SAHC's Elk Hollow Preserve Hike
DESCRIPTION:Where: SAHC’s Elk Hollow Preserve in the Roan Highlands\nDistance: 1.4 miles \nDifficulty: Moderately Strenuous (6/10)\, several steep inclines and some slick surfaces.\nCost: Free for SAHC Members\, $10 for non-members\nRegistration: Pre-registration is REQUIRED\nJoin SAHC for a beautiful fall hike at our Elk Hollow Preserve! This moderate one-and-a-half-mile scenic route will guide you through stunning forests of oaks\, maples\, and beech trees. The trail will wander beside Elk Hollow Branch and pass some vibrant meadows perfect for birdwatching. SAHC’s Elk Hollow Preserve is home to a variety of rare wildlife\, such as Golden-winged Warblers\, Southern Appalachian brook trout\, and Gray’s lilies.
