2022 Chicken Volunteer Training

The Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy Community Farm is looking for volunteers to manage our flock of around 150 chickens! Volunteers will be split into three primary roles: Chicken Care Volunteers, Egg Washing Volunteers, and Farmers Market Volunteers. SAHC is partnering with the Appalachian Trail Conservancy, Roan Mountain State Park, and the Cherokee National Forest to remove invasive garlic mustard from the Park and heavily trafficked highways around Carver’s Gap and SAHC conservation properties in the Highlands of Roan. Invasive Species Treatment – Black Mountain
