Join the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy on a horseback ride to Ferguson Gap from Hickory Nut Gap Farm! We will begin with a brief lesson on how to ride the horse. We will then learn about land conservation with SAHC from the perspective of the owners of Hickory Nut Gap Farm. Finally we will explore SAHC-conserved land atop horses on trails leading up to the Ferguson Knob pasture. The ride should last approximately 3-4 hours. After the ride participants will have the option to eat lunch at Hickory Nut Gap Farm.
While stamina to ride the horse for 3-4 hours is required, previous riding experience is not necessary to attend.
