Farm Workshop: Irrigation Design at the Small Farm Scale

July 27 @ 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm

- $20

At some point in time all farmers will have to face drought conditions, so planning ahead for your irrigation setup is critical. Chris McWhorter of W.P. Law (irrigation specialists) will discuss well output, static & dynamic pressure, calculations for sizing your system, drip vs. spray, watering rates, layout, component selection, irrigation scheduling, operation and maintenance. Suzanna Denison of WNC Farm Link will discuss land assessment for infrastructure and associated costs to consider when looking to lease or buy.

There will be time for Q & A afterwards so bring questions about your current or planned irrigation design. This workshop is open to the public, and all are welcome! Cost: $20

Location: SAHC Community Farm, 180 Mag Sluder Rd., Alexander, NC 28701

Registration/Questions: Register below or contact Chris Link at chris@appalachian.org or 828.490.2565. Pre-registration is required; space is limited. Rain or shine.
