This inspiring film explores the life and legacy of George Masa (1885–1933), the Japanese-born photographer whose passion for the Southern Appalachian landscape helped inspire the creation of Great Smoky Mountains National Park and the Appalachian Trail.

The screening will also feature a special silent auction of a Masa-inspired painting by beloved local artist Moni Hill. Moni, a well-known regional artist and admirer of Masa’s work, has created an original piece inspired by one of his iconic photographs. All proceeds from the auction will go toward the completion of the film, helping bring Masa’s remarkable story to a wider audience.
