Date: Wednesday, August 2nd
Start time: 1:00pm
The Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy’s Community Farm is in a quick search for volunteers to help move 8 tons of stone and harvesting garlic, on Wednesday August 2nd! This pop-up volunteer event was initiated after 8 tons of stone was recently dropped off at our Education Center and we need to move it quickly before upcoming events happening at the Community Farm. Simultaneously, the garlic that was panted last year at the farm is ready for harvest! Harvesting garlic is a fun process of getting your hands dirty and helping secure healthy food for our local community.
If planning to attend, please come prepared with closed toed shoes, long pants, a water bottle, sun protection, and a pack lunch. There is running water and flushing bathrooms at the Education Center where we will be working. The Community Farm is also particularly scenic, it never hurts to bring your camera!
If you are available to help us at the SAHC Community Farm on Wednesday, August 2nd, please fill out the form below or reach out to Chris Link directly for more info or questions, chris@appalachian.org.
