When: Friday, August 10  — 7:30 to 9:30 pm • Doors open at 7:30, program starts at 8 (Rain or shine)

Where: Ijams Nature Center in Knoxville, TN

Come join us in Knoxville for a FREE short film festival, a keynote speech and a raffle with prizes from Patagonia, Osprey and others. SAHC President Jay Leutze will be speaking at this event!

We’re highlighting several short, thought-provoking films about the importance of our parks and public lands. Plus we’ll discuss the need to save the Land and Water Conservation Fund, America’s most important conservation program for the past 50 years, that is set to expire September 30, 2018 if Congress does not act to renews it.

The films (subject to change) include:
– A Deeper Creek: kids exploring Cherokee National Forest
– Damascus: a couple’s love story of a special place
– The Mirnavator: an inspiring story of a trail runner who authors the blog “Fat Girl Running”
– Dream Ride 3: a mountain biker’s dream sequence
– Contradictions: Find your water: a miner who loves to fly fish
– It is all yours: professional athletes talk about why national forests matter

Join us for a night of fun and discussion about our wild places!

Hosts: Ijams Nature Center, Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy, The Wilderness Society Action Fund, Appalachian Trail Conservancy, The Conservation Fund, The Land Trust for Tennessee, The Nature Conservancy
