This 2.5-mile educational trail meanders across the Community Farm, with interpretive signs along the way that illustrate the history of the farm, local wildlife, agricultural best management practices, stream restoration, shortleaf pine reforestation, and other projects on the farm. We offer farm tours and guided hikes along the Discovery Trail throughout the year.
Our Discovery Trail was created and continues to be managed with community support from numerous volunteers. Partners from the French Broad River Academy, AmeriCorps Project Conserve, American Conservation Experience, Emory University, Warren Wilson College, ExploreUSA, University of Tennessee, and many more have donated their time.
Please note: Because the trail crosses through active agricultural production and land management areas, staff must accompany visitors along the Discovery Trail.
Visit our Upcoming Events page to join one of our monthly hikes on the Discovery Trail.
To make arrangements for a group to visit the farm, please contact Community Farm Manager Chris Link at chris@appalachian.org.
