Calling all volunteers! While the trail to Pine Knob on SAHC’s South Yellow Mountain Preserve is in working order, it needs a lot of loving care. We need help with a variety of needs, which include: building bridges, removing trip hazards, trimming small trees, placing stepping stones, and much more. This popular trail showcases an overlook, waterfall, and historic mine, so let’s make it safe and beautiful! This property is located just outside of Spruce Pine, NC, so we will meet at the local Fox & Fig Bakery and caravan to the worksite together at 10:30 am!
What To Bring: Close-toed shoes, work gloves, lunch, water, jacket/rain gear. Please dress in many layers, the weather can be much cooler at this elevation during November.
If you have any questions, please reach out to South Yellow Mountain Preserve Manager Park Greer at park@appalachian.org
