Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy is hosting a special hike in conjunction with the Hellbender Festival in Spruce Pine!
Join SAHC South Yellow Mountain Preserve Manager Park Greer for a moderately strenuous hike to Pine Knob, an exposed rocky outcrop with beautiful views of the Black Mountains. Along the way Park will interpret the area’s geology and history, dating back hundreds of years.
Participants should be prepared for uneven terrain, wet and rocky inclines, and plenty of bugs. This outing lasts approximately 3 hours.
Please come prepared with water, sturdy shoes, hiking poles, and lunch/snacks.
The hike is FREE for SAHC members, and $10 for non-members.

Registration for this hike will be made IN PERSON at the SAHC booth during the Hellbender Festival in Spruce Pine on Saturday, August 30.
