Join Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy for a guided hike along the Snowball Mountain Trail to Hawkbill Rock and back. This is a moderate 3-mile out-and-back hike along a high elevation ridgeline with remarkable views into SAHC-protected lands. We start out on the Mountains-to-Sea Trail and split off to climb Snowball Mountain. Next, we continue North to Hawkbill Rock and look back onto SAHC’s Snowball Mountain Preserve property and into the Woodfin Watershed — another SAHC-protected landmark. At this point, you will be standing at the crest of SAHC’s 242-acre Reems Creek Bowl Preserve, and enjoying views into that property as well. Hikers should be prepared for a short trip, but steep elevation changes along the way.
