2008 Balds Management Work Day Activity List

General Work Day Description:
Woody vegetation is targeted for removal from
grassy balds between Carver's Gap and Grassy Ridge. Management will entail blackberry
removal via mowing with gas-powered,
brush-cutters/weedeaters; shrub removal
with hand-held pruning shears; tree removal
with hand saws and chainsaws. Hiking is
generally required to get to the work site.
Manage typically occurs from
mid-July – mid-October of each year.
