Gifts of Cash: When considering the size of your gift, please remember that you may either make one outright gift or a pledge paid over several years. Contributions of cash are tax deductible.
Gifts of Appreciated Securities: A gift of securities such as stocks, bonds or mutual funds can be made outright or used to fund a gift arrangement that provides lifetime income. In many circumstances, such gifts can provide capital gains tax savings in addition to an income tax deduction.
Gifts of Real Estate: Gifts of real property may come to the Conservancy in two categories:
(1) important conservation lands that are directly added to the Conservancy's permanent
protection efforts, and (2) trade lands that can be sold or traded so that the proceeds can help protect critical open space. Such donations can be made outright, with a retained life tenancy, or through a trust that generates lifetime income. Gifts of appreciated real estate can also provide capital gains tax savings in addition to an income tax deduction.

Gifts Providing Lifetime Income: The Conservancy offers many gift arrangements that can provide lifetime income, including charitable remainder trusts, immediate-and deferred-payment charitable gift annuities, and pooled income funds.
Gifts-in-Kind: Gifts can be made with tangible personal property, equipment, computer software and hardware, and other items that meet specific, identified needs.

We recommend that you work with a qualified tax advisor to structure your gifts carefully in order to take full advantage of available tax benefits. If you have questions or need more information, please contact our office, (828) 253-0095.
