Grassy Ridge is an expansive, open, grassy bald that is one of the most beautiful areas of the Roan Highlands. Paths lead along high crests with beautiful views, grassy meadows, wild rhododendron beds and flame azalea gardens. In clear weather, it has some of the best views in the eastern United States. SAHC, the U.S. Forest Service and others are working to protect this area from development.
